Benzophenone-4 is a broad band spectrum UV filter which offers both UVA and UVB protection. The sulfonic group makes Benzophenone-4 water soluble. This acid group can be neutralized by the usual personal care neutralizing agents, such as TEA or NaOH. The neutralizing agent makes no effect on UV absorption characteristics.
